Yeah!  Taskmaster is a little cooler, it's at least a little more finished.  Anyways, after Kaijudo I moved over to Marvel Animation where I am currently working.  But I'll talk more about that in awhile.  But on Monday I'm gonna start going through the year on TMNT!  Fun stuff!

Just a really fun sequence from Season 1 of Kaijudo!

After Season 1 of Ultimate Spider-man ended I had planned on taking a little break before season 2.  But my director had other plans haha, he introduced me to some people at Hasbro and I got to help out on Kaijudo.  It was a pretty big departure, but I ended up having so much fun that I just decided to stay on for all of their first season!

This was one of the first things I did and it was also my first attempt at trying to do a piece entirely in Photoshop.  It has a LOT of problems but I'm starting to appreciate these failed attempts.  Making mistakes really is the best way to learn,  also the most frustrating.  Working in animation has been an extremely humbling experience, but I feel like it has also brought the most growth in my work!

Okay, back on track haha.  I will quickly get to the stuff I'm doing now but I wanted to retroactively journal the last couple years...  So!  After Xenoholics and TMNT, I fell into animation and have been there consistently since.  I'm still working in comics and illustration when the work comes by but I'm loving work in animation.  And it all started with the first season of Ultimate Spider-man!  So today starts a couple days of random Storyboard panels from Spider-man!  First up, Ep. 8, it's got Venom!

Had a pretty good weekend relaxing at home for a change.  Found it real hard to get back into the groove today, but I got there eventually.  So here is a Cable piece, cause, he's awesome.  And I want to turn this blog into a web comic at some point so I was just playing with a new character!

Sometime next year ToMorrows publishing will be putting out a periodical, COMIC BOOK CREATOR.  The second issue will be devoted to the life and legacy of Joe Kubert, and I was fortunate enough to be allowed to contribute.  Joe Kubert and his school gave me an opportunity that I will be forever grateful for, so it was awesome to be involved in this, even if it was just with a small piece of art.

Continuing yesterday's theme of contributed pin-ups I got to do one recently for Jai Nitz, and his new book from Dark Horse called Dream Thief!  I'm not sure which issue I'll end up in but #1 came out last month to great reviews!

I plan to spend a few months updating art from (and talking about) my run on TMNT but at least for now I wanna catch up on some other stuff that I was pretty proud of.  So first off would be a pin up I got to do for a book called Sullivan's Sluggers.  Written by Mark Andrew Smith with art by James Stokoe, this book is awesome!  And I was thrilled to contribute in anyway!

Over the weekend I went to Heroes Con in Charlotte, NC and it was awesome.  Artist Alley was huge and packed to the brim with incredible talent.  And, everyone there was super nice (as always) I got to sell some books, make some new friends and even do some drawing.  Some con sketches and an IPad piece done in procreate!

And the final cover!  The cover for the collection was a group effort, Josh had some ideas for the layout and I got Seth to do the figure line-work and I did the colors, the alien and all that spacey background!

Only one more left, which will be on Monday.  Tomorrow I am leaving for Heroes Con over in Charlotte, NC.  One of my favorite cons for sure.  I'll be at table 825 selling some turtles trades, and I'll have some sketchbooks [link]
